The real question is: What the fuck is MGM+?

What a bizarre critique. The special was funny;  like, really fucking funny. He revealed as much as he needed to in order to make the jokes work. Not every special needs to be doing some sort of Hannah Gadsby style confession.

Adorable how they’re trying to pretend like them all happily trying to protect a convicted rapist didn’t happen and has nothing to do with this.

I love that there are people on this planet who have thoroughly digested all 8 seasons of fucking Home Improvement and want to continue the adventure.

I miss the good old fashioned Farrelly Brothers movies. Kingpin, There’s Something About Mary, and Me, Myself, and Irene. Those were great.

Sara is such a feminine name though, they should change their name to something more non-binary sounding.

I have no real opinion on Shane Gillis TBH, and I know that pointing this out is a bit like holding back the Pacific with a teaspoon, but nevertheless:

Lenny Pickett was trying his best to remain stone-faced, but even he cracked a smile a couple of times.

It’s a shame that the reviewer seemed to let her bias against the person themselves, rather than the actual merits of the episode. I thought it was pretty fun. I think people are misrepresenting someone based on the perception of his humor, without actually listening to the actual context of it.

If this was a ratings stunt by SNL (and I have to imagine it was), they really didn’t lean into it. Other than his joke about it at the top of the monologue, very little was made of Gillis as some sort of ‘dangerous’ figure. If you were unaware of the original firing, you’d probably have no idea that Gillis was contro

Now playing

The cut-for-time sketch might have been the funniest part of the show. A shame it didn’t air:

It was nice getting a window into what could have been if Gillis was cast on the show, turns out he would have blown up either way, outside the regular timing issues and line stumbles that have replaced ‘breaking’ on the show, was smiling every sketch but not laughing through them.  Monologue was excellent and sounded

Okay, grandpa. Lol. This isn’t 1999, you don’t need to star in a sitcom to be famous. He sells out every stand up show he does, he has a huge comedy podcast, he appears on every other giant comedy podcast. He’s famous among young people, not elderly guys who can’t find their clicker.

lol, was a funny episode, but I knew before coming here AV Club would trash it. Can’t just gracefully take their L and accept that the guy they tried to help ruin a few years ago survived it.

So you really hate that guy, huh?

oh no, not bro humor...whatever that is. SNL obviously made a mistake firing him as he’s pretty big now, “off color” BRO humor and all. it’s almost as if most people don’t judge comics on their politics. huh.

Awful person...for making jokes. Gotcha.

Christina Izzo looks like Shane Gillis in a wig.
