Because up until now, the sensor array that Tesla uses is no different than any other car with semi-autonomous features. They’re just more willing to risk pushing the capabilities of the sensors at the expense of safety and liability exposure.

And back in 1995 the Supra was as fast as Ferrari’s then-current offering, the 355. The 90's Supra was one of the fastest cars on the road, but given the state of the industry today, there will be far better performance bargains (something Toyota is usually known for) than the Supra if it’s a $70k car.
