Well....the redesign has certainly had a measurable effect:

I'm with you on this....Interesting that the photo shows Giz without the crappy new font. I've tried all week to get used to the new layout. I still hate it enough that I'm going to be visiting much less often — Maybe only a few times a week when I'm desperate, rather than several times a day. I'm also amazed that

@SBP1: I agree with coirbidh. Apple's statement says "if an app offers customers the ability to purchase books outside of the app..." If Amazon or B&N remove the ability to purchase from the app at all, they would meet the letter of the Apple policy. You could still open Safari, go to Amazon, purchase a Kindle

@barnaclebeau: Agreed! One of the basic principles of the Constitution is that it protects against the 'tyranny of the majority.'

@rob_p: "Nowadays we have scarcely a little parson that does not think it the duty of every man within his reach to sit under his petty ministration, and that whoever omits this offends God. To such I wish more humility."

@rob_p: "Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ loved the church and handed himself over for her.

@rob_p: A core principal of this country is that beliefs belong to individuals, not the state. By imposing your beliefs through the state, you are supporting bigotry and intolerance, which are fundamentally at odds with the founding principals of our country.

@rob_p: Our country guarantees you the right to your beliefs. However, trying to force those beliefs on others is another matter entirely.

@findmitch: I heartily agree. I'll wait to see reviews of the slant the content takes before I even consider giving it a two week trial. If the content does not take the typical Murdoch slant, then I'll give the interface a test run for user-friendliness.

Does the two week free preview mean that developers can offer time-limited trials with full-featured apps, or does this only apply to the subscription model?

@Gella: I had a friend in college who was on the way to class with his semester project — a box of punch cards containing the program he had written — when he tripped and dropped the box. Cards went everywhere...

I think I saw a similar map from an anonymous user which documented Elvis sightings....

I thought it looked like Cris Collinsworth....

@leadingZer0: I hesitate to add to the lowbrow humor....but I'm lowbrow, so....Do you want a larger dongle that's done quicker, or a smaller dongle that's takes longer?

@fluidexistence: I agree. A loaded system is the only way to tell what performance will be like. I have a Clear WiMax dongle for my laptop. When I first got it, I was able to get the capped 6Mb/sec download just about everywhere. In downtown Austin, I was getting 12-13Mb/sec. Now I'm lucky to get 1.5Mb/sec

@Homerjay has ABSA Fever: I love mine as well. I get my K-cups from Amazon. If you sign up for their subscription service, you save 15% on the price and they send it to you automatically, at whatever interval you specify.

Get the Logitech S715i. $150 and it blows away most portable systems costing twice as much.

@adgrimes: Sonos will play back FLAC and Apple Lossless. It does have a "hi-fi" separate for connection to existing systems (ZonePlayer 90). The ZonePlayer 120 has a built-in amp and the ZonePlayer S5 is an all in one unit with speakers....kind of like an oversized Bose Sounddock, but with Sonos inside....and much

@jjdaddyo: But unlike most Bose equipment, Sonos is worth the purchase price.
