@SBP1: I agree with coirbidh. Apple's statement says "if an app offers customers the ability to purchase books outside of the app..." If Amazon or B&N remove the ability to purchase from the app at all, they would meet the letter of the Apple policy. You could still open Safari, go to Amazon, purchase a Kindle…
