Sure the old EU was weird but the thing about it is that fans reminiscing about it now tend to forget the whole issue that 99 times out of 100 the weirdness was... well it was utter shit.

Is there any dashcam footage of this chase? I used to ride dirtbikes all over the small town i lived in, but I stuck to dirt roads, i did not ride on public streets with cars. Running from the Cops on an illegal dirt bike while not licensed is 100% the fault of the kid and his idiot parents for letting him do that.…
A 13-year-old should not be allowed by their parents to own or operate a dirt bike (or anything motorized) on public roads, or even on private land without supervision. They’re not trained, they’re not licensed or insured, and they’re not capable of fully grasping the potential ramifications of their actions.…
I mean, I guess that would apply to almost any level and any game you play as a SWAT team.
There wasn’t enough left of the semi to check, but the company he drove for had over 30 citations in the past year for equipment failure and drivers who couldn’t understand/speak English. So take from that what you will.
he was charged with too many things
Couch was a minor sentenced by a Judge at a hearing, there was no jury trial. It was a horrible outcome, but it was a shitty judge.
Reminder, kids: buy physical media or only media that you can download and run/use locally.
The “overzealous prosecutor” didn’t hit him with nearly all the charges that could be applied.
I hate everything about mandatory sentencing requirements. IMO, ALL sentencing requirements should be guidelines.
There is no indication of poorly maintained equipment. The brakes failed because of improper operation (using only the brakes to control speed on a downhill descent) and he decided not to use a truck runoff ramp that was just before the area of the crash, when he couldn’t keep his vehicle under double the speed limit.…
Some context for those of you not from Colorado, who don’t know the circumstances of what happened beyond what you’re reading in this article.
You assume the brake failure was due to negligent maintenance or faulty components, as opposed to a driver going too fast at the crest of a hill, and using his trucks service brakes instead of engine braking. That section of 70 smells like cooked brakes all day long.. because it cooks brakes. A fully loaded truck on a…
A lot of media outlets are not reporting this with enough detail. He didn’t just “lose breaks then crash”. After losing his breaks he made a DECISION to skip a truck ramp and try to “manage” the truck the rest of the way with only engine breaking (??). Then he came around a bend and realized it was bumper to bumper…
He did though, he had literally miles of road to decide NOT to plow into a highway traffic jam with an out of control 20 ton truck. He had runaway truck ramps, medians, guard rails to pick from and he went with... fuckit lets save me and use other cars to stop myself
Yes, thank you. people are acting like this was some little mess up. He did EVERYTHING wrong from start to finish. Media outside of Denver is trying to let him off the hook, but from what I have heard and read he deserves what he got.
“ But prosecutors say he tried to flee the scene and showed “extreme indifference to the value of human life.””
So what would a fair punishment be for killing 4 people with his reckless behavior?
Whoa, interesting. But it sounds like he noticed his brakes were failed/failing, pulled over to inspect, but then kept driving again? And then intentionally did not use a runaway truck ramp. And then chose to hit dozens of people instead of one semi truck. And then closed his eyes and smashed into everyone. I’m not so…
