Something something Band-Aid.

Are they going to do the reservation thing like with the iPhone? I did that when I got a 4S and it was perfect. No having to wait for UPS, and no having to wait in line at the store. You just get on the webpage at 9pm the night before, and go in in the morning.

Crunchwrap Suprito.

They said that about the Double Down, and oh how we laughed!

Most people don't need the power of a desktop processor for their computing tasks. What I think the author meant to say is that the type of home users that bought desktops because they were the best value, and not because they needed them, will be buying tablets a couple years down the road.

Heh, that's interesting, because I never look at the screen ever. The phone sits inside the center console. Different strokes...

How about things like ducking the music for spoken directions? Different voices? Honestly curious about the overall experience while driving. I quite enjoy the setup I have as-is; 90% of the time I drive places where I need directions I'll be listening to Pandora or Google Music thru the phone, and the ducking makes a

What does the Google app do better? I'm curious because its not something I've ever used.

There are plenty of paid solutions that are as good or better than Google turn by turn on iOS. The key point being they are not free, I guess. I dunno, I paid $50 3 years ago for TomTom, which has onboard maps and doesn't use data to work. I use it daily.

That would be pretty interesting, to get google turn by turn nav on iOS. I don't know if it's worth Google's time to write the app, though, as it is a nice selling point for Google phones to have built-in TBT. Or, I suppose they could charge money for it... but Google never charges for anything.

Yep, to me the only real advantage Bing used to have was aerial views (I'm talking about the fly-over views you get when you zoom in, aka birds-eye view), but Google is catching up in this regard as well. They already have my whole city and metro area from every angle.

Just FYI... This is in fact what it shows when you're connected to HSPA+. They just updated the carrier settings in 5.1. Nice rant, though.

I'd imagine they will continue offering two generations of devices for sale, so when you go to the store to ask for it, you have a choice between the new ipad and the old ipad.

Looks like its just "iPad" now, which seems like it'll be hella confusing when they are also selling the iPad 2.

It's all good. There's a rollbar. You can see it right there in the photos. Safe!

True, I should clarify, the ones pictured above in my comment are 600; the ones they describe in the article are 510.

To continue the Firefly quotes...

Are you sure they're DC? Inquiring minds want to know how they produce 380kW of DC power... (not trying to be snarky, btw)

@PriceOfEggs: I'd just like to add, that technically there is AutoCAD for iPad. You're correct, of course, in that it's not useful for doing work, and it is more or less a glorified viewer, but if you ever have a need to view a DWG on the go it's great for that, and it is also free.

I have the same feeling when I see thgese. This seems like it would be ripe for rickrolling, or worse.
