Well, the advent of on-line streaming has completely destroyed the network broadcast model. The networks are still scrambling to come up with a new model.
One of the greatest problems with the PT was under-utilized villains.

It’s true that SW has always been classic pulp space fantasy. And this kind of oneupsmanship is a common trope for that genre. I don’t know that the genre itself is that relevant to contemporary audiences. Genre tropes / audience expectations (mostly because the audience doesn’t actually know anything about pulp space…

Meh. This is the kind of epic “red matter” / “Vulcan implodes” bs that I expected.
James Horner was quite the fresh composer at the time. The hard-to-find Krull soundtrack is especially good.
