I just don't understand the need for the dopey mob/murder plot to be shoehorned onto a much more interesting show about the music business in the early 70's. It's not like Richie is even remotely interesting or sympathetic-he DID murder Andrew Dice Clay in a Coke fueled rage.

Some good: The show has been building to Neegans arrival and what 80% of the viewing audience knew what was coming since the end of season 5. Jeffrey Dean Morgan absolutely nailed the combination of charisma and menace he had to get across in his monologue. You could absolutely believe he's created a survivor mafia

I'm not wrong in saying this show used to be a teensy bit scary right? As in the bad guys used to do more than stand around and talk about how threatening they are?

My bad (duh)

So having the ACLU lawyer played by the devil from supernatural.

Aside from your rock n' wrestling animated counterpart, you didn't have hair even in 1985

It's absolutely amazing just how relevatory every episode this show has been.

I hated every second of big law work, but I'd work for Ed Begley Jr.

One of the biggest problems that I have with this show is that character motivations are only in service to the plot. There is absolutely no consistency from episode to episode.

Things aren't lookin so good for ol'Andy Dufrene. Hopefully he can escape and make it down to Zewatunahu soon.

Just from personal experience-

The Nolan films are probably the closest any comic book movie has come to existing in a world that resembles reality- so by extension there would be sociopolitical commentary on then current events.

Something nice: it was better than Bret Ratner's movie (just barely).

I dunno if it's depression per se: as stuck in career doldrums dreadin every single second he has to spend with Rebecca for the conceivable future until he can convince Kim to run away with him.

It's something people don't necessarily get about actually practicing law. Your opponents are frequently your colleagues and friends, and litigation is often nothing more than a contest. Big law firm lawyers represent clients for the paycheck, not because they have personal feelings about a case one way or another.

I'm hoping the next season episode titles just get as ridiculously unwieldy and pretentious as possible: "revenge of the wrath of the villains: part 6- the quickening- for I have touched the heavens and the sky so sayeth the penguin"

So happy to be seeing them in June 😇

Hannibal? Present
David Bowie? Present mate
Nasty Bits? Hello Nasty Bits?

As a huge fan of Mad Men and classic rock, I'm probably one of the bigger apologists for this show. There are parts that are entertaining, I'm liking the addition of Andrea, the rock-star cosplay continues to be pretty excellent, Jagger's kid is kind of a likeable doofus. It's just Ritchie is a huge "cyclone" of

There were numerous reasons creatively to support the show's failure (the Lugubrious pacing, the atonal drums, the 15 minute artful blood shots).
