It won’t fall out of favour. You just have to look at the reasons people are buying SUV’s to understand why.

What? These are awful. I got one of these at a Kroger a few months ago, and it tasted like nothing. I knew I was chewing pizza because I could feel something in my mouth, but if I had blind tasted it, I might have guessed bread. Both of my kids couldn’t stand it because it was so bland. I’d take any other frozen pizza

“The problem is how to pay [the employees] enough to afford children, a car and a house in the suburbs.”

WARM not hot. But also... you could just use a de-icer.

Cue the TikTok videos of people shattering the door glass by pouring hot water on the door.

That’s insane... I don’t even like taking 4-5 year auto loans. That must be why I look at most trucks being completely unaffordable and wonder how folks are buying them.

It blows my mind that a lot of people are shilling out $60-$100K for a lightning or mach-e. Must be the poor inside me mad about it. 😄😥

Sabine Schmit, Jessi Combs and now Ken Block =( Loosing all the greats in the automotive world. Seemed like a great guy to, down to earth, he will be missed.

SBF is a ‘misunderstood genius’ not a thief (or was, according to everyone) and this guy is a “California teen”... not an male ADULT who committed theft.

Tesla still has the supercharger network which is the main value for the brand. If they open it then other EVs will be great but until then CCS charging infrastructure in most of the US is still terrible if you want to road trip your car at all.

The other problem is EV’s are just too expensive for a large majority of people/families to buy. There are no decent affordable EV’s. The only ones that are relatively affordable right now don’t fit what a lot of people need or want. When the average price of a new EV is $55k+ you will not have mass adoption.

Median income in the US is about $54k.
Average rent is $2000 a month.
42% of Americans have less the $1000 on savings.

What an interesting take to compare buying a car to a kitchen remodel. I cannot think of a single person I know that has remodeled their kitchen in the past 20 years, save for one that was damaged in a flood. I don’t think that is as common a thing as you think it is.

So studies show as recently as November of this

That is just a staggering level of false equivalency. So much so I don’t even know where to begin.

You saw much the same gargabe directed at Michelle Obama when her husband was president. It’s not exactly subtle.

That is my 14 year old son’s favorite movie. Can’t tell you how many times we’ve watched it. So. Good.

Ford v Ferrari is on AppleTV. Having watched a lot of Shelby interviews, I realized Damon did a pretty solid job of playing him.

Sure would like to know what tires he’s using.

Mary Barra might be Elon’s boss before too long when GM buys it.

Seems to me that’s what VinFast was expecting.
