The right wing does stuff like this all the time, and that’s a big part of the problem. You can’t make headway on estate taxes when the Right calls it a “death tax”; after all, everyone dies and no one likes taxes*.

I was born and raised in the Bronx, so I’m familiar with “mandatory minimum” and “three strikes” penalties, I don’t agree with them but I am aware that they exist/existed.
This does NOT make it OK to “roll coal”. Many things make the environment worse for humans and we can/should tackle many AT THE SAME TIME.
