I would guess it had a rear suspension sub-frame which was ripped off.
When I was kid my parents has a GS and a CX, both estate versions and both in bright orange. I’d forgotten how wacky the dash and steering wheels were. In the GS the radio was where you would expect to find a normal parking brake, as the parking brake took up the spot where the radio was supposed to be.

I’m guessing the explosives detonate right after the detonation cord flash , but there is a delay between the start of the detonation and the visible ‘explosion’ when the rock actually breaks into pieces.

Actually I take that back, in the 365/512BB and Testarossa, the gearbox is underneath the engine block.
Or any longitudinally mounted engine Ferarri, or any open wheel formula car...
