“If we lose, it won’t be because of people like you trolling on what are obviously liberal-leaning sites.”
“If we lose, it won’t be because of people like you trolling on what are obviously liberal-leaning sites.”
One of the delusions of the Bernie Sanders supporter is a willful ignorance of the fact that their cult leader can’t grow his base. Since the adults in the room (not his children supporters) don’t want him to win at the convention, he will be squeezed out. And thank God for that ... him as the nominee is a guarantee…
What matters is that when we get to the convention, Bernie’s 30 or 35% (since he can’t grow his base) is not going to be enough to clinch the nomination. So he and his supporters can be flushed down the toilet. It doesn’t guarantee a Democratic win, but even a chance is better than a guaranteed loss with Bernie.
Winning has a way of bringing people together. Since Bernie can’t win, Bernie supporters are endorsing 4 more years of Donald Trump. I’m sure that will bring a lot of people together.
What does it mean when the other side is hoping your candidate wins?
The news couldn’t be better. We now know that Bernie’s 30% of the delegates is not going to be enough for him to claim the nomination, as he dishonestly wants it to be. That means the moderates can band together and pick a proper candidate that can actually win the election.
It is true, we are not likely to agree. Take care.
“So now the (completely made up) number of 20 or 30 or whatever trillion dollars over ten years”
I’m not sure why it is surprising that there is absolutely no interest, even from women, in a Miss America without the swimsuit portion. Did anyone actually think people are watching because of their personalities?
Of course, it is not “zero actual benefit to anyone other than themselves”. If it’s a publicly traded company, then it has a value in the marketplace, something that your retirement money or pension plan is invested in. If it’s a privately held company, then that “zero actual benefit” is in the form of wages to actual…
It really is the case that the left is just as vulnerable to conspiracy theories as the right. Anything that is a different point of view must be a “bot” or a “russian troll”.
“We’re talking about greatly reducing the administrative overhead (every hospital won’t need people that do nothing but negotiate insurance contracts), the management of M4A would need less staff than all of the insurance agencies combined”
Individuals have a remarkable ability to convince themselves their pet projects, whether they are tax cuts, or new spending, are revenue-neutral when they want them to be enacted.
“What Democrats have done a terrible job communicating is that we’re currently spending $3.6 trillion a year on healthcare. That translates to $36 trillion over the next decade.”
If you think that the employer costs that will be “saved” by your remodelling of almost 20% of the United States GDP will just magically be passed on as savings to the consumer, you are totally deluded.
If you want to take issue with the correctness of the reply, then do so. On the other hand, if you just want to complain because someone is actually pointing out that Bernie and Warren's fantasy math is impossible, well then I don't know how you can be helped. You have terminal progressivitis.
It does not remotely “pay for itself in savings”. After all of your savings (assuming they even come to pass), it’s a $20+ trillion hole.
“The Urban Institute estimates that a single-payer plan would require $32 trillion in new tax revenue over the coming decade. That’s slightly less revenue than its projected cost, because it would generate some offsetting savings by eliminating certain tax benefits the government now provides, such as the exclusion…
“Ocasio-Cortez’s example: massive military budget increases under Donald Trump. While there was a spending bump in the last year of the Obama administration, military spending under Trump has risen astronomically, from $586 billion in 2015 to $716 billion in 2019.”
“Now I like Pete, please don’t get me wrong. I’ll help him in any way I can. I think he’s an honest man, I think he’s a decent man, I think he has integrity. I’d like to see him keep running”
