Can we really continue to pile on Bill Clinton for this after everyone rallied around Katie Hill for the same thing six months ago? Are affairs with subordinates bad or not?

Youthful revolutionaries tend to cloister themselves into intellectual islands. Insularity is a poison of the mind. You can talk yourself into believing anything when you’re surrounded by other true believers.
The dirtbag left mistakes pragmatists for moderates. I understand there are moderate voters in the Democratic coalition as well, but I think the largest cohort of Democratic voters (supporting candidates from Bloomberg to Warren) are more pragmatic than anything else.
Exactly. The majority of Democrats are moderates. Just because Bernie supporters are louder than everyone else, doesn’t mean they’re a majority. It also doesn’t mean they actually show up to vote.
According to Jezebel its just the East coast, West coast, South, and the “ Dark zone” which apparently is just one big corn field
its their lack of will when it comes to exercising the critical thinking necessary in achieving empathy
Is it really so hard to believe that a blogger from NYC who’s politics align with the Dirtbag Left cannot begin to comprehend the appeal of anyone capable of winning a Senate seat in the Midwest?
Do you really find Klobuchar’s appeal inexplicable? Putting aside that every candidate has flaws and shortcomings and Klobuchar was obviously no different...inexplicable? You can’t muster the energy to begin to credibly and fairly rationalize what it is about her, her personality, her performances in the final few…
“Elizabeth Warren was the only true front runner who was properly vetted. Meanwhile Biden and Sanders were allowed to fail upwards.”
Not yet, but the math has never favored Sanders in a two-person race. His strength was always in a split field, and despite what his supporters seem to believe, what’s left of Warren’s support is not a monolith and it is not likely (even with a Warren endorsement) to make go en masse to Sanders.
I don’t want them to be “nicer.” I want them to genuinely RESPECT allies who hold different views of how to execute progressive proposals than them and who’ve had different life experiences.
I really, really don’t think moderates are asking us to dream smaller. The polls show many of them believe in the same things we do.
What’s the investment some leftists have in pretending nothing’s wrong over there?
The apopleptic response to Biden’s victory last night is just incredible to me. Mainstream democrats also dream of universal healthcare, affordable childcare and college, expanding rights for LGBTQ+, compassionate immigration policies, etc. We’ve been dreaming about those things for years actually, and working hard to…
failed in reaching the very same groups who he failed to reach last time essentially.
Bernie needs to stop using the word “socialism” because a) he’s not a socialist, he’s a social democrat, and b) saying “socialism” loses presidential elections in the US because you have to appeal to a majority to win.
Ca... Can we bring back splinter or deadspin before reporting this shit, because goddamn this puke is people following people for the sake of being liked. I get it celebrities and all, but holy sheeiiit has this site gone downhill with its “journalism”. Please for the love of god let this be the next site that gets…
Exactly. We now have a whole bunch of evidence that Sanders’ entire campaign pitch (“only I can bring out people who don’t vote, and they will vote for me”) just isn’t true, because they’re not showing up to vote for him.
I wish it weren’t Biden, either. But I think the hope over fear binary is a bit silly. Anybody who looks at the remaining list of candidates and isn’t a little bit afraid about any of them being the nominee is being blinded by something, and I’m not sure it’s hope.
No. Joe exceeded your expectations.
