the stenographer is not the person who writes the transcript which is later released. They write the first draft, the transcript writer then cleans it up and writes the final version that goes out to the public, while checking it against footage from the event.

I work with “the people who write the transcripts,” literally share an office with them, and part of their job is to clean up the language of the speaker and make it coherent. If they didn’t do that, they would be fired. Their job is to make people look BETTER on paper, not worse. So yeah, they are absolutely not…
