I’ll put it this way: I have a couple of her songs, but in general I find myself avoiding her stuff because I’m turned off by how intense her fans are in their online behavior. And since I’m digging deeper—she also has a victim complex I find really annoying.

I don’t think the internet ruined fandom because there have always been extremely nutty fans. I think the internet just gave the a platform and reach they didn’t’ have before but they were already nutters.

This. There is something seriously wrong with you and your life if you are this passionate and emotional about a celebrity.

Honestly one of the reason’s I’ve never bothered to get into Swift’s music is that I find her fandom off-putting. And I’m all for using your own life to inspire your art, but this is going a little far. Gyllenhaal’s getting called out for not being a great boyfriend to a woman he dated for three months 11 years ago.

Has anything been so thoroughly ruined by the internet as fandom?

I’m not big on her music (can take it or leave it), but I do like her play on this.

Not my music taste but I respect her work ethic.

The truly amazing thing about Sexiest Man is how it always tends to be a good 5-10 years behind the actual zeitgeist. Rudd is a fine choice but would have been better in the early 2010s.

Literally my first thought. I can’t imagine doing this in any other workplace and not being shit-canned for creating a hostile work environment.

Fuck him. He tried to get cute, have his cake, and eat it too.

Dude, it’s not your opinion that’s under fire. You lied about your vax status and then hung out with people. What about those people’s right to choose to hang out only with vaccinated people? You shit all over them.

Thank you sir! So many bon mots. All the words and more! I mean, calling a lie a lie can’t possibly be wrong, can it??

Always enjoy a good Harriot piece.

“I’d rather die gloriously in battle than from a virus.”

Is there anyone here who would NOT get fired on the spot for behavior like this (regardless of whether the target was a coworker or competitor)?

WTF is the matter with this guy?? And in what professional setting is this remotely okay? Sergeant-at-arms has some housecleaning to do. Inmates running the asylum, I swear.

I hate that we’re even having this conversation. Miley Cirus and Taylor Swift and Demi Lovato and Katy Perry got away with actual appropriation. Miley might’ve been the worst offender in the history of mankind. She took from the culture, made it look like absolute trash, and then walked away from it when she got
