I've been doing Pimms cups with Fever tree Ginger beer lately. Throw a cucumber and lemon wedge in there and summer is complete.

I wear sunglasses on top of my regular glasses when I don't feel like wearing contacts and its bright outside. I have two pairs of sunglasses that are just large enough that you really can't see the glasses underneath. Paired with a hat and they are invisible!
Agree. I once had a parent fly into a rage at a restaurant I worked at because we wouldn't serve his obviously underage kid booze. Stormed out of the place cursing the management. Like yeah we should totally risk losing our liquor license because your rules at home don't follow the law. Were the bad guy in this…
Yeah. The heels I usually wear have straps. Or tie around my ankles.
I bike in heels occasionally. Usually without an issue. Though this one time I almost broke myself. I have these amazing brown knee high Victorian stye lace up boots I would wear to the tweed ride in DC. The first time I rode in them I didn't tie the laces tight enough and they loosened up enough to get caught in…
The Bethesda location closed about 4 years ago. It's American Tap Room now. Silver Spring is still open. I had drinks at the Alexandria location last week, but I haven't actually eaten at one in forever.
I figured it was Austin Grill. There is one is Silver Spring and one in Old Town. For some reason I also thought maybe she worked at Hill County BBQ, a Texas style NYC import.
A few years ago they had a wine vending machine at my local Giant. It was ridiculously complcated to use.
DC has decent Ramen scene. Even better if you go into the suburbs of Rockville. But yeah the first place I mentioned Daikaya plays hip hop. Which is the Japanese American executive chef's music of choice. I worked there for a minute and we got complaints about either the music being "trashy" or "not authentic enough".…
THIS! Just because a table is available doesn't mean its available. That open table right there? Has a reso on it.
Are you in DC? If so I bet you are talking about Daikaya. Or Toki Underground.
I always dealt with assholes with a smile for this same reason. The worse you were the bigger the smile. Some days I probably looked damn psychotic.
I hosted for years. I never got idiots like this. You have 20 people in your party. 20!!!! Even if you roll into the Cracker Barrel you more than likely will have to wait. Dumbasses.
It drives me crazy when people post about noise or a busy place being crowded on a weekend night. What did you expect deciding to dine at the hottest spot in town on a Saturday?
I have no issue with hoverers who clean up after them selves. Its's the ones who don't who get my ever loving hate. They only time I hover is in port a potties. Because there is no way I'm sitting down on a port a pottie seat.
I was in that area all day yesterday and debated going. I decided I didn't want to deal with the lines and didn't go. Really kicking myself right now.
Her security may be in street clothes. I once went to brunch and Sotomayor was seated at the table next to mine. I remember seeing her come in with a group of four, but the table she was seated at was for two. I think her security was seated else where to blend in.
Just as a question what do you mean by close earlier? If someone comes in at close they are keeping staff from leaving no matter what the time. We would serve them until the time the kitchen closes. The issue is the people who would stay way past closing. It's one thing to come in, eat your food and leave. It's…
YAASSSS!!!! Seriously. Don't come in to a restaurant right a close. You are not going to get the full fine dining experience. You are going to get the eat and get the hell out experience.
We I need the space! ;-) We were sharing ambiotic sac and all.
