Man, this reminds me of Dreamchild (not the critiquing, but the characters badgering the protagonist). Anyone remember that one? I still remember, I think it was the rabbit, angrily talking to a much older Alice about how she didn’t deserve the precious gift she got(!).

We’ve gotta wait for Disney to kick the can out of Ike Perlmutter though.

Now playing
  • Hannah Zeile has a lovely singing voice, but I feel like “Summertime” is a weird song choice for a white teenage girl.

Honest question: why is Zack Snyder the hill these guys are willing to die on?

He makes overly long, cheesy action films that don’t resonate with mass audiences that misunderstand their source material and run on an internal logic bordering on the schizophrenic. He can’t film an action scene at normal speed. He can’t

That’s just about the stupidest string of comparisons I’ve ever seen written out. Not a single one of those things is like appreciating Frank Zappa for his articulated perspectives but not appreciating his music. Not a single one. My goodness.

No you can’t. If you do, you’re just being a hipster for hipster sake.

This is nice and all, but it comes off as a ‘well he was not awful to us’ defense.

My favorite Zappa Quote:

“I actually don’t place that much value on lyrics either;” — I see this as an obvious reason that you don’t “get” much of the value of the lyrics going on or the almost constant sarcastic idea behind all the music Frank made. It is ok, some people don’t get it and might never get it at all, such that, they will listen

I think we’ve now answered John Oliver’s “What The Fuck Is Going On At CBS This Morning”

So here is the thing. If a theater is sold out and packed on a Friday or Saturday night, that doesn’t mean much. What makes a movie a success is when even the 10 AM show Sunday morning is packed.

“We want our overdone, violent wish-fulfillment revenge fantasies to be grounded in reality, not some stupid comic book universe.”

Tomorrowland 2.0

To be perfectly frank, I felt that this first episode was a perfect standalone Punisher story.

This review is a trip on so many levels. First, I would argue that the Orcs in the Lord of the Rings are in fact not depersonalized, in the fellowship of the ring they even have a scene where the all the orcs are arguing over whether or not to eat the hobbits that clearly establishes the orcs have individual

Yeah, for me, it was the Fuck Yeah moment Caroline was concerned about.

Also its pretty heavily hinted at that the crew did other crimes before this so its not like it was this one time thing for them. Not counting Donny he just got caught up in something bad. I think comic punisher would of left him dead (at least the Ennis one, not sure about him currently in the comics)

The clues in the name - Punisher! He kills murderers, rapists, pedophiles etc. Whether the criminals are “high level criminals” or not is irrelevant. Besides, he’ll know they go to jail, come out and more than likely reoffend. Not on his watch.

having only watched this episode, you don’t really need to know much about the other TV shows to know what is going on besides what happened with Frank in Daredevil S2.
