Absolutely what I was thinking. As much as it hurts, I don’t think we need Barrymore on this

I feel like we got the same theme in New Nightmare, though I’m sure that Jackson would have a very tone than 90s-Craven.

While the plot isn’t very similar, you can also say that the themes of New Nightmare are so similar, Dream Lover would be kinda redundant.

Focusing so much on making sure the audience “gets it” also detracts from actually being, you know, scary and entertaining.

Bruckner and his screenwriters Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski don’t seem altogether interested in the kind of psychosexual introspection that drove Barker’s film

The difference is that American actors have not been historically marginalized by Hollywood, and gay actors have played straight roles because they had to be in the closet for generations or their careers would be over. There is a long history of out gay actors being denied auditions and getting blackballed by the

As a matter of fact, removing historical context from an argument and pretending that these are “universal” issues is extremely illogical. I don’t agree that Frazier is wrong for the role, I think that it’s much more nuanced than that, but this is just bad faith.

I think the weight gain is for real; a result of some debilitating injuries from making the Mummy movies and depression. He did wear a fat suit, sense he’s not that heavy, but neither is Franzese, so for the role to have the intended effect, it’d either have to be a genuinely 400 lb dude or any dude in prosthetics.

I do love conversations like this about Ripley and knowing that the actors were also thinking and talking about this stuff. One of my favorite scenes is when Ripley finally loses her patience with Parker and tells him to shut up and listen. From the DVD commentary, Kotto had been trying to get Weaver to the place she

It was cut from the script and never filmed. On part that was filmed and later cut was Ripley come across Dallas in a cocoon and then killing him out of mercy. It did make it to the DVD, though.

Yeah, but that’s French!

Yeah, one could also frame this story as “hey, Scott and O’Bannon (who is well known for being a very prickly guy), listened to a young performer’s constructive critiques of their story, took them to heart, made the changes she requested, and went on to have a successful working relationship.”

The slideshow is hiatus for retooling.

Ultimately, it did about as good (give or take a mil) as everybody at the studio predicted, so not sure if any of the drama ended up having any impact at all.

I keep getting Florence Pugh and Yasiel Puig mixed up.

Florence saw Ted and Harry in the closet, and they were making babies, and the baby looked at me.

Anything John Hughes

More important question: why do people on social media care so much about defending the wealthy and powerful against any slight? Obviously, this isn’t about Beyonce fans alone, and they may even be least consequential compared to other, worse examples.

Beavis and Butt-Head should always look like weird goblin boys.

I think there are a lot of critics really pulling for Peele, against mounting evidence.
