While the plot isn’t very similar, you can also say that the themes of New Nightmare are so similar, Dream Lover would be kinda redundant.

It was cut from the script and never filmed. On part that was filmed and later cut was Ripley come across Dallas in a cocoon and then killing him out of mercy. It did make it to the DVD, though.
