This is going to make for a very awkward moment next time he goes to get his car back from the hotel valets.

“Everyone finds what they are looking for in the Darklands. Unless you are what they are looking for." Is a clear allusion to Conrad.

I think Barsanti is the only person who answered the question truthfully, or at least stopped to really think about the question. Odds are, the movie most of us have seen more than any other is one we were obsessed with when we were five years old and constantly played back-to-back, over and over.

STBY was easily one of the best films of 18. I don't understand why critics around AVC are so ambivalent about it.

“script co-written by...Guillermo del Toro” is not a great sign.

When he explains to his son that he could get more games buying a used N64 than a new system.

Great comparison. STBY is like Putney Swop meets Brazil.

The Dig from Jacobin. Current Affairs is not explicitly socialist, but it is definitely from the left and very good.

Excellent list, unfortunately the impression that I get from their recommendations is that those podcasts are way too lefty for AVC to handle. I would also toss The Dig Jacobin podcast on that list, and Left Coast if you live in or are from LA.

The show reached its peak with Tracey Ullman. It was all downhill after that.

I can’t imagine a Halloween party without Screamin’ Jay Hawkins.

What, no 45 Grave? No “Return of the Living Dead” soundtrack? Seriously!?
