I'm completely fine with this. I've always liked the Messenger app and use facebook through my web browser anyways.
My friend let me borrow his Samsun Meteor Mic. It's really convenient. It has 3.5mm headphone jack with a volume knob so its also usable as a playback device. It has good sound quality, come with a built in stand and could be used for everything mentioned above. It also looks freaking cool.
One of the best options is the Wii. Easy to to mod and you can also play GameCube games on it. But if you want emulate something like a PS1 PC is the best option. With a PC you can even emulate a Wii and Gamecube with Dolphin in HD.

People who only really use a computer to go online, but still want a desktop experience. A second computer? It's not the most practical thing, but I'd rather have a chromebook than a tablet.
