I only hit VIB this year, but I’m living on a grad student budget. After my mom died in May I went on a craaaaaaazy Sephora spending spree and fell in love with the entire Too Cool For School line, the NARS velvet lip glides when they came out, and the Boscia charcoal pudding mask.

What I do, since I love Sephora but certainly can’t afford it, is get the “value sets” that have samples of all kinds of cool things for $25-$65. Perfume samplers, a Too Cool For School sampler, etc.

Birth control is preventative medical care, which anyone with half a brain in a functioning society should be supportive of. Per the Hyde Amendment, the government does not provide funding for abortion.

Fort Bend County (Houston burbs, if you’re unfamiliar) went blue for the first time in god knows how long and it gave me hope.

Oh, they’re very serious about (non-poor white people) voting (for Republicans!)

Watching Jerry Kill have seizures on the sideline was just unbelievably terrifying and I’m glad he finally bowed out. Nothing is worth sacrificing your health.

I’m a Texans fan and I loved him, I wish him nothing but the best and hope he stays healthy. He’s a pretty nice guy in person, not that it means anything really, but seeing him have that mini-stroke was terrifying and I’m glad he’s being proactive about this.

A lot of that is due to the horrendous gerrymandering (my god, the district that encompasses literally only the rich white parts of Houston makes my blood boil) & a shitty public transportation system that disenfranchises everyone unlucky enough to not own a car in my concrete jungle hometown.

my fiance started applying for jobs in Oregon the day after the election. got one, but decided to stay in our red as hell state to keep fighting our idiot governor.

we’re not a blue state, we’re Chicago surrounded by red

I just moved from Chicago to Louisville and the homeless problem in Chicago is obscene. It’s a problem everywhere.

that was definitely not my point and I apologize for not being more clear in what I was trying to say there. it just makes me incredibly irritated whenever people talk about a large swath of people and land. we’re not a monolith. just like California is not a monolith and has its own problems with racism and classism.

why won’t Bevin just disappear

I lived in Buena Park and Huntington Beach for a while and the classism is too much for me.

There are a TON of brown people in the South. The dining options in the South and Texas are incredible. There are also very blue areas in places people on the east and west coasts (there are three coasts, people) like to shit on - Houston, New Orleans, Louisville, Nashville, etc. Be the fucking change.

Vin Scully

While I hate EVERY FUCKING ASPECT of all of this, I like having a home, though. My mortgage won’t be paid by someone in solidarity with a protest.

I want to throw a uterine cast at Greg Abbott.

None of those are the topic at hand. My question is more of this: why is it that those who are very much anti-choice actively voting for people who cut funding for sex education, free lunches, childhood medical care, contraception, and the list goes on? why is it that the only time a lot of these “abortion is murder”

So why do we protect the “truly innocent and vulnerable” when they’re at 20 weeks gestation but not after they’re born?
