Actually, it was pretty much that 35 years ago when I lived and worked at faires, too. Even if there was more emphasis on historical accuracy at a few of them (the California ones, mostly, because they were partly funded at the time by a living history foundation). Nice doc.
The nastiness has a sweet edge, or center, and the opening up of the balletic, violent moments reminded me of John Woo’s HK movies, only with humor instead of passionate ‘my brother’ glances between the men. Plus, I loved the opening credits. Definitely a fun movie.
Yesyesyes! Also, Saga Saga Saga!

I’m sorry, “subjected housewife”? Abused, timorous, entirely oppressed woman was what Carol was, and her change—arguably—to self-possessed, independent, fiercely protective badass is entirely and gloriously for the better. Yes, she’s a killer—it was that or be dead for her.
The Tanzer and the Goldstein, yes!
Yes!
Good, that’s what I was hoping it would be! (We share a love of this particular brand of B movie.)
My feelings exactly!
Yeah, so done. ugh.
I'm with you on all the variations of how are you thrown at one as someone is passing in the hall—I mean, there's not even time to really answer. Hate it.
I miss Nightwing comics. A lot. For reasons.
Groot is magic.
Groot is magic. (looooved it.)
It's also better world building than the books managed.
