? I never said it was progressive. I’m saying that women there DO have an interest in fashion, which is why fashion magazines exist over there. Not every woman is covered up from head-to-toe all the time. Thus a reason to wear fashionable clothes. Even if she is covered up outside the home, she may want to be dressed

Honest question: if someone has a gun because they’re afraid of an intruder, wouldn’t a gun safe keep them from getting to it in time? My family has never had guns in the house, so I’ve never been around them and I don’t really understand how they can be effective for safety unless you hear the intruder before they

I don’t know exactly which countries it’s available in, but not all countries in the Middle East are as strict about clothes as you might think. Even in Iran, many women wear the loosest/flimsiest head scarf possible with most of their hair visible. Not every woman in the Middle East is in a Niqab (full veil, eyes

The best part about this is that, if she had been male, she would probably still have a job.

White people.

Our justice system often forgets to treat children like children. I’m honestly surprised they’re all getting such lenient sentencing or weren’t tried as adults.

If the wife doesn’t want to have sex, but is pressured into it by your nonsense idea of her “marital obligation,” then that’s sexual assault. Possibly even rape.

It doesn’t sound like he already knows that. Also, I feel really bad for his wife if he’s married.

Did he speak like that 10 years ago? I think that would be the key. It’s hard to know, since the only thing I can think of to check it against is his time on The Apprentice, and I’m sure that was heavily scripted and edited to make him seem more intelligent. Or maybe not. I haven’t seen it since I was a little kid.

There’s a line. I can be friends with someone who thinks, say, capitalism is a good thing. But even before Trump, I could never be friends with someone who was anti-choice, or didn’t believe in white privilege. I just don’t have time for that.

What about a 40 of rosé?

It’s definitely being marketed to white women. Did you go to the website?

“Wypipo” means all white people. I don’t think it was ever intended to separate “good” white people from the bad; that would be giving too many liberal white people the opportunity to distance themselves from conversations about race/their roles in institutionalized racism.

And she never actually told you to shut up or stop posting, but you still had to turn it into a THING because how dare she suggest that maybe you’re not The Root’s target audience?

I was kind of expecting to just laugh at this, but this guy seems so genuine and sweet. Someone needs to help him meet Mariska Hargitay ASAP.

“Admitting” you like boxed wine has been “cool” for a while now. Drinking way too much wine has been a stereotype about white mothers for a long time, but has a stupid cutesy tone to it that you would never see applied to mothers of color. That “screw a glass onto the top of your wine bottle, insta classy!” should be

Go into any convenience store and look where they keep the beer, and you’ll see 40's. It’s not all malt liquor, but they definitely still exist.

I’ve personally found it very easy, but then again, it only meant cutting out one person I was already itching to cut out anyway.

I didn’t, and that worries me. I used to have emotional responses to shootings in the USA, and now I just shake my head and sigh.

That seems like a pretty big leap to make; it’s likely just how the guy talks.
