Echo's Despair

I think he remembers the Obama years. He’s still aware of trying to act in good faith, however. He knows the likely result of reaching out in good faith will be more Republican hypocrisy, but at least he can show it. It looks like he has viable “Plan B” plans to bring out each time, anyway, where possible.

Former Hyde Park resident where University of Chicago resides, can confirm.

What are they teaching these kids?
“If I Was Black...” What the actual fuck!

I just commented on this very point. Africa is a continent, not a country; at a certain European countries have fought and enslaved their rivals, yet these fools never mention that fact....then again they probably don’t know.

Steve writes “Did you know the blacks enslaved each other for centuries before whites arrived? Did you know white slave traders didn’t have to get off the boat to capture slaves because other blacks sold fellow blacks to them?”

If you have an ounce of sense or decency you’ll go with someone else, but If you are a racist idiot who wants to go to prom with a racist dick-head then say yes and be my prom date.

when conservatives talk about divisiveness, they’re really just talking about shit that hurts white people’s feelings.”

These laws appear to be a more in depth approach to white washing history. Over the decades I have noticed that the more brutal aspects of American history are slowly vanishing from history classes, and even from the history shown on television.

I feel like anyone who studies history can look at a variety of moments in time where the people in power ignore the wishes of the youth and it turns out that in 10-20 years time that the kids were 100% right.

Also, cost (and time) to train a Soldier versus a police officer is often drastically different”

For those who like their duck pre-fricasseed.

Military personnel are trained with the full awareness that any misstep might cause an international incident, and if it’s bad enough, the US government will leave them to hang in order to avoid jeopardizing foreign relations.

Maybe it’s the stories I read, but I remain impressed how the people we train to go overseas and fight can handle this type of shit so easily while cops lose their shit if someone so much as looks at them wrong.

There is an ongoing history of too many White citizens engaging in a game of psychological warfare by projecting onto Blacks the fuc*ery they’re responsible for, thereby directing attention from themselves. This has been exasperated by the political rhetoric and behavior by Republicans and others during the Obama

I can’t seem to find it but This American Life, Snap Judgment or some NPR-related podcast I listen to had a heart-breaking story on just how blatant and upfront the FDA and/or whatever federal agency that dishes out farm loans and subsidies were in openly discriminating against Black farmers for DECADES. IIR, a former

Lost an acquaintance on the Book of Face (good riddance) when I called out his use of a picture my white friends and family have been posting to look like sweet innocent centerists. it says “I dont support BLM and I dont support the KKK cause I dont support hate groups”.

This illogical strawman argument is not just factless, it’s dangerous because it engenders the belief that both sides need to move toward a centrist position where all our problems are solved. Where is this race-neutral oasis of freedom that Perry refers to as “the middle?” And how does it work?

I’m only gonna say this once: the best way to reign in these filthy, motherfucking racist cops is to eliminate their publicly funded pensions. Why the FUCK am I and everyone else in my state (and all other states in the Union) forced to pay for police pensions, so they can retire at 50, move to a ‘sunnier’ state

To the gray comment I dismissed:

It’s going to take a while for the numbers to trickle out, but I’d bet that police shootings of unarmed Black people, and police violence in general, has gone up at least 100% since the Chauvin verdict
