Echo's Despair

Thanks for the links. There’s another article about the vaccines that caught my eye. Not sure how useful it is, but it featured a quote that I’m going to save for future reference:

Here’s the thing: if we were to use the appropriate legal standards for determination, 1/2 of the Republican Senators would not be allowed to vote on the matter — they were accomplices to his actions and antics, and just like family and friends not being allowed as jury members, they should not have been given a vote.

Justin in the case of Britney shouldn’t even have to apologize, because in a society that wasn’t sexist his actions wouldn’t have mattered. They broke up and he wrote a kiss off song about a ex that maybe cheated. And she wrote an apology song (Everytime) where she said she was sorry for what she did.

I’m Irish-Jewish, and my ancestors arrived in this country after the civil war was over. And although neither Irish nor Jew were particularly popular back in the day, my family never got red-lined out of buying a house, never got put in jail or lynched for the color of their skin. They didn’t get excluded from the GI

You still benefit, as a white person, from the wealth inequalities that have carried over from the days of slavery. Idiot.

Two errors in that sentence. Would you like me to point them out to you?

They should have learned from endless horror movies that nothing good happens to anything built on an Indian burial ground.

Predictably, the official story has since become one about the apparent injustice of a reporter losing his job because of undue alarm over “a single word.”

History in my small town school system in the 80s was very... streamlined. I think Crispus Attucks got a mention, the Civil War was bad and the Underground Railroad was good and then Martin Luther King Jr and Rosa Parks formed Voltron and defeated racism. Oh and George Washington Carver invented peanut butter.

That word is not just a word.  Some of those that were called that “word” never had the chance to grow up. That word was the last they heard before their lives were taken. They actually experienced “hell” before they had the chance to grow up.

Why these so-called patriots don’t get that “black history” IS American history, in its purest form is beyond me? This country was built on the backs and forged in the blood of people of African descent.

I agree with what you said, but I could *almost* buy a devil’s advocate-type argument along the lines of “Those are actual acts of violence that Turner and Cosby committed, and this dude just said a word.”

Well sure, as long as we’re removing all context from everything, then I’m PISSED, royally pissed, that Brock Turner had his entire career ended over a ‘couple of thrusts.’ And I’m really mad that Bill Cosby went to jail over ‘a couple of pills.’

All food is organic.  All chemicals are natural (believe it or not).  His medical situation sounds as farcical as his political beliefs.  Just chuck Dances With Karens into a fucking pit and concrete it over.

I’m not saying that would be an improvement, or even meaning to imply that they don’t already do that. https://impactjustice.org/impact/food-in-prison/#report

“Trump has now become Presidential.”

My daughter amazes me every day. Her imagination is absolutely boundless. And I swear her language evolves exponentially by the day. Just the other day I told her we couldn’t do something and she said, “OH, PICKLES! OK daddy, some other time.” I have no idea where OH, PICKLES came from! I asked her yesterday if she

When I was in my teens, I figured I’d be a well-known NBA beat writer by now, and probably have my own radio show if I wanted one. Didn’t ever want to get married or have kids. When I was in my 20s, and a journalism career didn’t work out and I was letting way too many nights go into the next morning during my

I am assuming we may be the same age mas o menos. I believe we went through similar experiences. I had no expectations of living past 25 years old. Looking back there was no real reason for such doomsaying other than being a moreno latino that was targeted by the police, schools, etc. These experiences led me to my

I’m glad you were wrong. I’m glad your children give you joy. I’m glad you are around, because your work makes my life better.
