I agree... I feel like Jez’s passtime has become that of a unsupportive and mocking nature. The opposite is what brought me here in the first place.

I think your original interpretation is the valid one. Quoting single words generally means that the author doesn’t agree with the term, or is mocking its usage. It is not standard style to put quotes around single words without further explanation, so I am confused by the author’s response.
Do I have to? I’d kinda rather not.
The Douche has a Masters in comparative literature. Bet this guy doesn't.
also it seemed to me that there was a “wear whatever was on the clearance rack”aesthetic to it because lorelai and rory weren’t supposed to have that much money?
I can’t be the only person who grew up in a small town in the early 00s and knew people who dressed exactly like that, though, can I? I know I’m not alone here. Not only did I make some of Rory’s mistakes myself, but all the adults I saw around me were dressing like Lorelei and Sookie, too.

People just love to rain on parades don't let them bother you! I loved your story and believe you
And that’s perfectly fine. Beliefs are like assholes and whatever floats your boat, awesome! I’m not offended by skeptics. My problem was in the way it was stated and the implication that supernatural things don’t exist to “logical” people and all supernatural stories are either sleep paralysis, a house settling, or…

I’m not personally offended by it, HOWEVER: “I know ghost stories make for fun family lore, and I get that folks experience sleep paralysis or have homes that make strange sounds. It’s probably very fun to…
JESUS you’re a buzzkill. It’s Halloween, enjoy a damn ghost story. I promise we will all still stand in awe of you as the smartest person in the room, but for gods sakes just fucking relax.
THANK YOU. As far as Popes go, he’s a pretty good one (for the record: Agnostic cultural Jew, here), but HE IS STILL THE POPE OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH.
