Same here. I'm not sure how that wasn't seen an essential feature before they released it.

I like the silicone mitts I have. Not only can I get hot stuff out of the oven or grab a the handle on my cast iron skillet, but I can reach into boiling water to get jars when I'm canning. They don't look quite as cool as these, though.

You're right, I didn't "roast" the beef, but a pot roast is generally braised, not roasted. Pressure cooking is basically braising at a really high temperature.

I made a delicious pot roast in my pressure cooker a couple nights ago. The cooking time was 45 minutes. I've also made the risotto from Modernist Cuisine a few times and it's really great.

Google Earth already has a "flyover" equivalent, even though it's only available for five or six cities.

Yep, that's where I first heard about him.

My favorite is Thomas Midgley, Jr. He invented chlorofluorocarbons and leaded gasoline, both of which were disastrous for the environment. After developing polio and becoming disabled, he invented a contraption to help him get out of bed. He became entangled in the contraption's cords and died of strangulation.

Try Kim Min-jong. He's an actor in a Korean drama my wife watched.

Google seems to be well aware of this, as they've introduced paid app encryption in Jelly Bean.

Another new audio-related feature of Jelly Bean that I haven't seen much mention of is gapless playback. According to the Jelly Bean documentation it exists, but the stock player doesn't seem to take advantage. It's amazing that it's taken this long for it to even be supported.

When I was in India a few years ago, the opposite thing happened to me. Some random person asked me to take a picture, so I assumed they wanted me to take one of them. They really wanted a picture of me.

Not sure why people complain. It's just a plain gold band. A few people have asked me to take it off, though. Maybe they're concerned about it getting caught in the net.

I don't like taking my ring off, so when I play basketball I wear something like this over my ring: [www.amazon.com] It provides cushioning for my fingers, and it keeps people from complaining about me playing with my ring on.

I must have posted too soon.

I like how there are basically no fanboy (ugh...that word makes me shudder...) comments, but almost every comment is about the impending flood of fanboy comments.

My current backup solution is to use s3cmd ([s3tools.org]), which is a CLI for Amazon S3. It works similarly to rsync, so I have a cron job set up to run it every night.

I'm pretty sure a locked bootloader means you can't install custom roms. I don't think it has anything to do with rooting.

I think the streak is actually a contrail, and the dark line ahead of it is its shadow. Do a Google image search for "contrail shadow" and you can see a lot of similar photos.

"640K ought to be enough for anybody."

The biggest problem with doing your downloading on your home computer is that you're home ISP's upload speeds are probably pretty pathetic. Expect it to take a long time to get those "legal titles" downloaded to your school computer.
