If you're not buying a New 3ds from Gamestop then they probably won't do the extra credit. It's only supposed to be for people trading towards a New one. And it's also technically only for preorders but they might be more lenient on that one.

People will buy it for New 3DS since the Wii version is $70 used(if you can find it) and the 3DS one will be $40 new. At least in North America. I was planning on doing that but no non-XL model means I'll probably end up seeing if I can get a Wii version....
