They needed the actual game code in order to do the port, and the only code they had was HoMM 3. I don't know about the episodic stuff though. Presumably that's lost along with the expansions.

I really don't mind Ubisoft. They've revived several franchises that probably don't have much money in them. Might and Magic X is fantastic. When would EA or Activision release something like that? Whenever I see a live-action of an anime/whatever, I always think, gee, everyone is Japanese. Well, of course they're Japanese. But compared to the anime, where no one actually looks Japanese...
