Yeah, good point. That probably is why he said that. The impression and implication was that 3DS games would play the same as they always have on it. Again, never know. I would be delighted if stuff did have a performance boost. That would be cool. There are plenty of games that have a lower frame rate if you

I think I would take the dude from Nintendo on the Gamespot video as reasonable confirmation. Never know though.

Are you American? If not, I can say "I guess the grass is always greener"! :P Maybe I just have Japan envy. Perhaps they knew what they were doing with the NA redesign after all.

Is it just my speakers (tried decent Jawbone and junky laptop speakers both), or does that sound awful? I'm not talking about the composition quality (no comment), but the actual quality of it, or the production or something.

I've got a Vita, but I'm still feeling a little low on RPGs. Maybe I've overlooked some I should have paid more attention to. My favorites on it are old PSP RPGs and old PS2 RPGs.

I've been pretty careful, but I would worry about things like car keys and change getting in there. But car keys and change in the same pocket seems like it would scratch it up anyway.

You prefer the NA design? Why? I've never heard anyone say that before.

I think there are probably more factors than we can know about, but the bottom line is the bottom line. They saw absolutely no reason to take the risk. I'm surprised they take risks on anything. Bravely Default did well, but I doubt it was all that profitable. And for them to accept a fan translation of Mother 3

Gamespot had a video with a guy from Nintendo Australia, and while he was really quiet and had an Australian accent, I'm pretty sure I understood him as saying something to the effect of, "Old games will run just as comfortably as they always have," implying they will not run any better. It would just be too hard to

I really don't think old games are going to run any better. They'd need a patch or something to do that, or a patch built into the system to enhance them (which I also doubt will happen).

As fond as I am of my old SNES controllers, I'm not sure I'd really like that.

We haven't gotten any white 3DS or 3DS XLs in North America...

Yeah, I suppose so. I never finished it back when it came out, so I was sort of thinking about selling my PS3 copy and getting it on Steam. I dno now, though. (This is what I get for not finishing games, then hoarding them for years and years intending to replay them...)

Yeah, I hope they don't let us down with the faceplates! Suppose we'll see 3rd-party plates as well. I'd love a Super Famicom or SNES or NES or Game Boy styled one!

I agree the Xenoblade thing was above and beyond ridiculous though. I got my copy direct from Nintendo, which was all right I suppose, but the Gamestop thing was absurd. And just the fact that it was already in English for the UK and they wouldn't release it here. Mind blowing.

Well, they did give us Dragon Quest VI and IX. I don't blame them for not touching Mother 3 after how poorly Earthbound did. They are a business, after all. Personally, I'd run that business entirely differently if I were them, but I understand what they're doing. (If it were me, I'd hire translation teams and get

Yeah. You're right, of course. It is kind of a strange design. I just assumed all original 3DSes got those lines!

I would bet big dollars that the software designed for the old 3DS will run exactly the same on both systems. It'll boot faster, but once in game, everything will be the same. Could be wrong tho. :)

Jealous of all those Japanese games that Japanese people (and this guy) get to play. Go fig.!

Hehe I want to play Conveni Dream!
