Do you think they'll release white with colored buttons in the US? Seems like we never get white, and I doubt they'll give us the Super Famicom button colors either.

Some people whining it's not different enough, wah wah, and other people whining it's too different, wah wah. I am thinking the first is closer to reality.

Yeah, I agree. The 3DS launch was ridiculous.

So far they've only announced one game that will require the New 3DS. I think it'll be much more common to see stuff that is enhanced for the New 3DS but does not require it, unless the platform takes off like the Game Boy Color did. And like the Game Boy Color, this is probably a few-year stopgap until the next

Trying to do here? Keep up with the Joneses? It's barely any faster at all. A new system would be another thing entirely. This isn't even like the jump between yearly iPhone models.

I'm real fond of my old SNES, but I have been jealous of the Super Famicom and PAL SNES for decades. I think the PAL SNES is really the best compromise (other than the PAL stuff).

I think because Nintendo is tired of the controversy.

But then how can kids with no computer or smartphone get their smut?

I hope they release it in white in the US! Why don't they ever release white stuff here?

I wonder if the new layout of buttons and stuff will make it hard/impossible to release a 3rd party extended battery pack? Hopefully it won't need one. I've been okay with my XL, but my original 3DS was useless with battery life.

Throwback to the Super Famicom you mean, right? Also the PAL SNES. The NA SNES just had the two kind of ugly colors (yet I am still fond). It's hard to say what they'll do for the NA release. I would like them to keep the colored buttons.

Yeah they really are wobbly now that you mention it...

It was the same with the current XL, you know. It hasn't been an issue. You wouldn't want to put it in your pocket with other objects anyway, would you? Or flying around in a bag with other stuff? As long as you're careful, it's not a problem. I agree it's a little weird, but it prevents the marks you'd get on

Yeah, I feel the same. I was torn and have decided on this one, as you said, because it's a nice step between. Plus it has the faceplates, hopefully will have the colored face buttons, and if DS games look too small on it in native pixel mode, then I guess I will keep my old XL for DS games.

Who knows. Why did they not give us more great RPGs? Why do they still not? They think they know us. Maybe they do know most of the NA audience, just not us weirdoes. The 16-bit era was both the golden are and a terrible travesty for Nintendo's NA audience.

Jeez, can I have your job?

Yep, pretty much.

You bought it 3 years ago (4?) and feel cheated? I bought mine 3-4 years ago (whenever it came out), and I bought an XL a year ago... and I'm fine. They are not that expensive and not released that often compared to other devices.

My opinion differs from yours. The DSi looks like something an old man would carry cigarettes in. Or a cellphone with a very poorly designed case.

Me too. We didn't get those neat colored buttons in North America, though.

You won't, unless this takes off and sells a ton of units.
