My good laptop maxes out at 720p; my less good one maxes out at 1080p but probably couldn't run the game anyway. Would the "HD" texture pack even matter at those resolutions?

Yes, I think he probably doesn't know what he's doing. He also does tend to start the stream long before he begins playing, but maybe that's in case something goes wrong. I'm not sure! I've only ever watched a few of his, but the ones I've seen have always started that way. :P
