I can’t learn to like the headlights (although they aren’t THAT bad) and I think the rear isn’t wide enough on the non-turbo 996's, it’s still very far from an ugly car. Especially in black. The black really smooths out all of the unsavory aspects of the car.

996's are still a great value. I haven’t driven one, but i’m going to assume the performance and feel are still great, even if everyone loves to hate on the 996.

Really? That’s what I always liked about the 993. It’s clearly a vintage design, but it’s also distinctly 90's/modern. Those tailights that span the entire rear end just stir something in my soul. The 964 is nice, but I think it’s silhouette really benefited from the widen rear fenders on the turbo.

The vintage Porsche market is insane. That being said, i’d pay whatever price they’d want me to pay for a 993 (especially a turbo). The 993 is achingly beautiful to me for some reason.

I could’ve mentioned the bbc’s (heh) and other big v8's, but they have the same basic sound as well imo. It just gets bassier as the displacement increases. But yeah, it’s probably just the amount of cylinders firing that gives v8's that disjointed burble sound.

A couple people in my town own slingshots. I actually saw 2 of them over the past week sitting at lights. One was sitting next to an integra type r, the other next to an e39 540i wagon. I bet you can guess which drivers I respected more in those situations.
