America really jumped the shark (for like the millionth time) in the early 2000's. Clothes, TV, cars, culture as a whole. Everyone really bought into the “bigger is better” mindset. It was almost like America bought in to the caricature of itself. 9/11 probably had a lot to do with that, though. Gotta love that early…

Basically from 2000 to around 2012-ish, cars were just overall shit. Especially American cars. We’re in a pretty good state with cars now, regardless of what jalops say.
