Every time I fly over turkey, the NOTAMS they publish are hilarious. It’s like passive aggressive high school girls arguing. (Them and the Greeks)

Even in the S-400's case, there aren’t enough missiles in the Syrian theater to shoot down the Turkish Air Force, even if every single missile were fired before their launch apparatus were destroyed.
Love the plane porn :-)
Sick photos.
I think I will go to hell for what just happened in my pants while viewing these pics. :-)
In year 2115, people will be joking about how WWIII was started over a bird.
Its a former East German MiG-29A, when Germany unified they kept the Fulcrums around until 2003 or so. The MiG-29 was designed long before the wall came down (1970s) and entered production in 83 or 84, IIRC.
I suspect it’s the latter.
Turkey is not in any way overmatched compared to the pocket force that Russia has in the region, especially since we’re basing F-15s in Turkey, and have F-22s and a carrier nearby.
A couple of F-16s could probably outfly the Su-34. I think NATO gave them a stern talking to about how to approach these situations in the future. Better to thoroughly document the incursion and then confront Putin though diplomatic channels.
But this huge jet with shit missiles is so cool man, must be better than F-16.
Couple of problems with that. #1, we’re going to look like dicks when we fire off live ordinance in a shipping lane, as if our big meaty supercarrier is afwaid of a widdwe dwone.
Sfferries nailed it. Part of my job is to provide security to carriers in the AG/Strait of Hormuz, and this is a total non-incident. I’ve intercepted boats armed with rockets, guns and torpedoes, helicopters, drones, all kinds of things, and honestly, this is so low on the list of scary things that can come at a…
You know we are cooperating with Iran against Daesh, right?
“Because one of these days it will be a hostile action”
um... understand how the world works. the US does not own everything nor is it entitled every business opportunity, especially when America is a free market economy. maybe Airbus is giving them a better deal. and as for the oil, the price was dropping well before the embargo was lifted . #understand how the fucking…
Right, shoot down the drone and prompt them to respond with anti-ship missiles, of which they have both quantity and quality. This is just an Iranian way of showing off, directed towards their domestic audience.
Um... they shot down a drone (or, more likely, found one that crashed) over THEIR airspace.
This is a very flawed argument, the basis of which is “it’s worth rolling the dice on Iran’s reaction in order to make a point.” By your same logic, when two of our boats entered Iranian waters then Iran should have sank them both. “Because one of these days it will be a hostile action. And [Iran] won’t be ready for…
that would be very bad for international relations. we ARE NOW working with Iran not against them and they are not against us. get over it. and being in international waters instead of being docked in a hostile territory are quite different things.
