On the contrary it was the F-35B that made sure the F-35A/C would happen... it didn’t really mess anything up anyways.

F-35A is down to 95 million and on track to get to 85 million each by 2019, including the engine, and it’s the best multirole fighter ever fielded.
Most twin engine planes if they take a hit to one engine it’s likely to take out both. F-35s engine tech is so good you don’t need two.
Scaled composites was like Tessa/apple level of awesome.
Top pick is a Skyraider with a nuclear bomb... that’s a scary mission when your plane struggles to break 220 mph. Middle is just a nice pick. Bottom are two heavy leakers... it’s a feature them leaks... that way you know it’s not empty.
It’s actually not that that cheap or capable. There’s a reason only super low end countries lease them.
P-47 for the win...
Especially since we already bought them for Iraq and Afghanistan.
If we’re going below 30mm the the GAU-22 25mm from the F-35 is much better than 20mm, it’s a happy medium and the smart fused shells are awesome and anti armor at the same time.
Be nice to swap a laser into that spot.
Maybe but the A-10 is stupid slow. I think the confusion is in relation to the T-X program which does require supersonic and aerial refueling... neither of which the scorpion can do, thus it has not entered that contest.
The photo you linked was never an actual thing, the pictures above was an actual attempt to add a 30mm gunpod.
The Scorpion is still a question mark on costs/performance... they have a prototype and that’s it.
F-35 will allow better targetting and realtime tracking of every soldier.
F-35 can do those things.
The F-35 is actually designed to be easier than any existing fighter to maintain. For example the Navy requires it to hit its RCS target even after being aboard ship for a deployment, the electro-hydraulics packs allow the doors/bays/cockpit/etc to be opened just by plugging in a Cat5 cable... no need to have a…
Awesome, I love learning new stuff and this site never lets me down. If you can describe any incidents... who/what/where/dose/procedures... type stuff I’m interested. When did these become common? What’s the range?
