That’s a German Air Force F-104G Star fighter, while it is wearing USAF colors that’s because the GAF trained their aviators in the USA and it was thought better politically to not have German flagged fighters over the USA, it had only been twenty years since WWII

They certainly copied what they could... nothing shameful in that as they were starting from way behind...

No doubt I would say inspired by...

Luckily we already have more F-35s in the F-22s

They copied the Mig-144 prototype

They never couldn’t fly in the rain... or lightning that internet bullshit was always wrong... it stemmed from test procedures that weren’t ready for testing

Thanks for the compliment.. lucky for Japan they have a real stealth Fighter in production...

In the early 1990s Russia was so broke that they gave the Mig-144 plans to China for cheap...

True... the J-20 is not only a more advanced design it also has a government who can afford it...

Key features are the DSI, diverterless supersoinc intake, developed by Lockheed for the F-35 using a F-16 as a test bed. This intake has no moving parts and uses its shape to push stagnant “boundary” layer air away from the intake. First used by the F-35 it has since been used on the J-10B among others. This greatly

So what’s a J-20...

Movable canards are bad for stealth, fixed ones are not so great either.

Definitely a derivative...

Incidental is still a crime...
