I don’t think a handout is correct. I’m speaking from a financial point of view. If the numbers don’t work and the only way it works is a tax break, then that’s how the deal has to happen or else t won’t happen at all

Just because the made 9 Billion last year doesn’t mean they should go ahead with a shitty deal. Deals are underwritten on a deal by deal basis, not upon the underlying revenue of a company. Detroit can either give them a tax break and collect in the future, or let their city keep rotting.

Building code in that area is nowhere near as strict as say south florida. $ amount of destruction is higher because of the way structures are built. The majority do exist, its always been a marketplace. For the IMSA and grand-am/Indy races, they would turn it into a track, theres part of the IMSA track that has been turned into a park/museum , but can easily be reverted back to part of a track.
