Oh yeah, that scene of watching other planets explode was weird.

I just wish that scene wasn't so derivative of ANH/ESB. I mean I already assumed Han was gonna die going into the thing, but once I saw the set piece, I knew it was a given.
Well then TFA is in luck
I was part of the first public performance of that at Drafthouse in Austin. I read the Claudette part and it was fucking nuts
Goddammit I want it all. ALL.
Never, ever bank on the instant rave reviews coming out of some big, adrenaline-fueled premiere or screening. They're fool's gold.
LEGO, for one. When they stop producing the sets, they shoot up in value. Also, some of the stuff like the new Masters of the Universe toys from MattyCollector have a somewhat built-in scarcity that forces the prices up. Also some smaller-run NECA stuff. I guess I should clarify that these aren't going for Star Wars…
I have an invite for tomorrow, but have a work obligation I can't wiggle out of.
As a MISB toy collector myself, all the people that scoff at the hobby don't realize that even relatively new shit can go for big bucks.
Man, I feel weird about having to buy a ticket to a concert almost a year away (as it is here in Austin).
So is that shot of the neck of the Enterprise getting smashed re-used twice for a specific reason? Are we gonna do more time-jumping?
Yeah I wasn't impressed
I mean I looked at some of the concept art that's gonna be in an add-on reward coffee table book, and there's stuff in there for a Professor Bobo mech suit for whatever reason
I pitched in and am looking forward to it, but I hope they don't Poochie it all up
While the F&F "characters" are a more fleshed out than anyone in any TF movie, the only reason anyone cares about the characters is that they've been through more than half a dozen movies with them, not because they're so well drawn.
I get what you're saying, and I don't know the answer. It's sort of like how the Fast and Furious movies are just as rock-dumb and obsessed with cars and action and asses as the Transformers movies, but with F&F both critics AND audiences embrace them. Maybe it's because the TF movies come across mean-spirited?
Same here. I've also never watched Downton Abbey.
I don't have hate for the reboot except for whatever possessed the filmmakers to think the idea that April and the Turtles needed to be connected in their youth, but I didn't really like it either. This trailer, though, makes me kinda happy.
This movie was breezy fun, even if it was about economic disaster
It all has a Johnny Come Lately feel to it, as if the branding is the draw when it should be the talent.
