It’s really simple. As a society do we reject and fight back against this predatory behavior, or do we roll over and hope someone else will do it because of fear of our own personal safety? All these people talking about how lucky she is for not getting hurt or shot, and no one even considers that it’s the carjackers…
What I don’t understand is why this is okay and even admired, but then any time someone wants to dress up as a race other than their own and suddenly they are labeled offensive and hateful? The most recent example I can think of is the Disney’s Moana bodysuit costume. Why do we get upset if someone wants to dress as a…
It doesn’t really make any difference to me if you’re right or not. I did read that part of your comment. And I’ll answer your question with a question: Do you really think your phone is “off” when you turn it off? Do you think that’s air you’re breathing? Ha!
In the vast majority of cases of a phone getting too hot, the heat is coming from the processor(s) and not from the batteries. It’s a kinda interesting phenomenon that everyone always instantly blames the batteries. We all have experiences of computer systems getting super hot when being heavily used or when internal…
Why? Please explain why this is such a bad thing? Are we so sensitive that we can’t abide a caricature of a race of people? What if SnapChat offered a filter of all the major races? Would that make your butt hurt a little less? So what if a white European person pretends to be Black or Brown, or if an Asian pretends…
It’s possible the faces were all computer generated originally. They could have a sample of 100 generated faces that covers a wide spectrum, and then all they’d have to do is adjust accordingly when needed.
The question I’ve never seen answered to my satisfaction regarding these large hacks is, “How do you manage to pull this much info off of a server (or collection of servers) without someone noticing?” and “How much time and bandwidth does something like that take?” I work in an industry where we are constantly moving…
I once drank a Coke™ while wearing Rollerblades™ and making a Xerox™ copy of some Kleenex™ I found in a Styrofoam™ cup!
First off, I’m strongly against the idea of Apple writing anything at all like what we’re discussing here. But there is an answer, and I think it’s what Apple is secretly planning on doing. The hack that they are being asked to write isn’t actually to break the encryption. Instead, it’s a way of brute forcing their…
I wonder how far people are going to go with this “Threat to National Security” angle. If there were a live terrorist who was apprehended and had all of his plans hidden somewhere within a 10 mile radius of his last know address, would the people still insists that the feds be allowed to invade and search every…
I hate wearing this badge, but I’m basing my comment off the frustrations myself and all my fellow co-workers had fighting this trend during my 5 years of working for Apple. (Also, the myth that you have to constantly close out your multi tasking apps to improve performance, but we’re not talking about that right now.)
Stop that, and please don’t teach people this trick. The two button reset is not a soft reset, it is a forced hard reboot that can damage your phone if you keep it up.
