Seriously Zach, I usually love your reviews, but you're missing how great this episode was.

In spite of some great moments of humor and even touching pathos, this season is just not as interesting as the previous two seasons. We're seeing some boiler plate emerging in the Coen story telling machine, the lady cop smarter than her male superiors, the cops themselves being smart and dedicated yet always two

The problem is that Oleg doesn't know that.

I still say the Russians are totally wrong about the midges and the wheat. I think the big tragedy of this series is that Philip and Elizabeth jump through hoops over Russian paranoia. Kudos to Stan for stepping up on behalf of Oleg.

Going out on a limb here, but I think the Russians are screwing up again. I think the Americans are improving their wheat production and producing an aggressive strain of midges to test against the wheat. I think the Russians have it backwards. The USA isn't trying to destroy wheat; they're trying to strengthen it,
