Not as funny as the fact that those arguments are still just as valid now.

Does that RoR take into account the losses to investment income caused by big market disruptions like happened in 2001 and 2008? I know my 401k was set back to near the principle investment point by the 2008 collapse, meaning I lost nearly all compound interest up to that point. I didn’t technically lose any money

The obvious contradiction in logic here astounds me. On one hand, he wants to stop people from coming into the US from Mexico and “steal our jobs”, and on the other hand he wants to make companies move jobs from Mexico, making more people there need to come across the border to find work - and ironically, they will be

Lobbyists are in control, not politicians. If a big lobby don’t want something to happen, it doesn’t happen, no matter who is in charge.

It’s not a theory, you can can flash them with a little effort. Google is your friend.

It’s a wonder that nobody has taken them up on their pleas to be bailed out. Who wouldn’t want content of this quality under their company logo?

It’s required by law now, so it was fully intended. It’s actually only access to the radio strength that’s restricted by the new law, so 3rd party firmware is not dead, manufacturers just need to split that section off so it can’t be modified. Cisco/Linksys and Buffalo have already said they plan to do this on the new

Any of the Arris/Motorola Surfboard modems out there are the gold standard, supported by any cable provider I have ever heard of. The 6141 is the best bet (around $70, or $40-50 refurbished), but if you are planning on going to higher speeds (150+ mbit) you may want to fork out the extra money for the 6183.

FYI, If you are a T-Mobile customer you can still get an RT-AC68U (known by them as the “Cellspot Router”) for super cheap from them. It runs custom firmware, but the router itself is the same and with some effort you can flash it to the retail model if you want.

Not true. If you live in a McMansion that may be the case just due to pure square footage, but a single centrally located router can cover most modern houses just fine as far as signal strength goes. You just need to buy a GOOD router, not a dirt cheap one that you found at the Black Friday doorbusters sale.

Ah, how low our standards are when it comes to our network equipment. It operates for 2/3 of a month like it’s designed to! :P

I don’t really have a problem with people having dogmatic beliefs either, but running a top tier sub comes with a cost. Since that particular sub is the defacto location for discussion of anime, it should be more open and less dogmatic if that’s what the majority of people in there want. If anyone should be forced to

Ture, but even the most pedantic gamer accepts that even if the subject is a stretch of the definition, it’s still a game. I’ve not seen anyone want to delete a post about Pokemon Go or the various visual novels on the Vita even though their status as video games is a stretch (by current western standards anyway - in

Except this is Red Dead 3, so it’s “Red Dead With a Vengeance”. Or maybe Red Dead 4 if you count Gun Smoke, the game that Revolver was based on, making it “Red Dead IV: Oblivion”

I’ve not bought a new game yet this year after swearing that I would wait and read reviews before buying, and it’s totally paying off. By the time they get around to making the game playable, the first sale is going to be coming around for the holidays.

It actually didn’t at launch, it was added in a later patch after PC players complained. So, basically they made exactly the same shitty decisions in this version that they did back then when porting the game from the consoles to the PC. Bravo, guys, bravo.

In other news, the multiplayer aspects of Star Citizen have not been affected by this decision. Their release date remains the same as before- “to be determined”.

This was also the key to soft-modding the original XBox. You only needed to put a modded save file for one of the games that had the vulnerability on the system and then load it - boom, full access to the firmware. On the bright side, it was twoards the EOL of the platform, saved a lot of people from their failing DVD

It’s got nothing to do with liability, it has to do with the perceived devaluing of their $2500 SDK, especially the proprietary elements that Sony built into the PS4 to lock developers in. In comparison, MS charges $500 for the same thing and uses the same elements as their free Windows dev tools, so porting mods over
