Oh shiz I totally forgot about Jurassic Park, Terminator 2, and Hunt for Red October.

YOU doesn't make sense.

Or you could just borrow my laser-discs of the non-special editions.

Mine did that for a few hours, but now I am back to the old comment section. I thought they did away with it because of the complaints, but apparently not.

I've been secretly waiting for my mother to get some sort of dementia so I can steal all her precious laser-discs (which include Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story, The Star Wars Trilogy, Die Hard With A Vengeance, Alien and Aliens, Patriot Games, and Caddyshack), drive off into the sunset, and cackle maniacially.

WARNING STUPID JOKE ALERT WARNING

I'm sure it's been brought up multiple times, but Red Letter Media's analysis of these three films is more nuanced and informative than any of these articles. Granted, the authors of these articles are merely trying to explain their own point-of-view on the quality of the prequels, but the mountain of evidence as to

I think it's more of a failure of Wiig's central nervous system rather than any intent implied behind the "gesture".

Wiig uncontrollable lip quiver = win.

So glad someone else brought up "The Disintegration Loops" - those albums really resonate with me. After a long bit of "What am I supposed to be doing? How am I supposed to feel?", hearing that over the scene made me go "Okay, Alverson. I see where you are going. I know where you want me to be."

But what about the girls, eh? …*licks lips*

Any film that uses William Basinski in its soundtrack is, by definition, a masterpiece.

She prolly has his purdy hammer… :(

Orny Adams is pissed they got Jennifer Aniston to play him instead of Courtney Cox, who clearly was the more appropriate choice.

Flight of the Navigator? Mac and Me? Explorers? Wargames? Breakin'?

Great point. I will keep this in mind.

I watched it with my Scottish girlfriend and she really enjoyed it. She didn't get a lot of the references either, but she enjoyed the moments of fourth-wall breaking and jokes that were apropos of nothing.

I didn't say it here, but I did reference it in another comment - that film is full of fail, but Achoo's reactions to everything, Blinkin's complete ridiculous antics, and Little John all make that movie work for me. Oh and Cary Elwes' reactions to Little John "drowning" and the "lend me your ears!" scene is classic.

Oh man, I need to catch up with that sometime soon. Seeing the opening credits as a child, I always felt really weird and I don't think I ever really watched the entire thing.

Since you put it so eloquently, let me rephrase my question and make it much simpler: is this nostalgic filter an enhancement or a detriment to the film-watching experience and subsequent discussion?
