Mercedes state the engine will only last for 31000 miles.

AMG is very aware of that, seeing as how they require a full overhaul service every 31,000 miles

Add boost.

Once the power is divided out across the electric motors you are still looking at a 1.6L v6 putting out about 700ish HP.

“That’s down from the F1 car’s 13,500 RPM redline.”

Apparently it’s about 30k between rebuilds

All those motorcycle owners must be panicking!

Do you think a larger displacement engine with an 11k redline would be more reliable?

I wonder how much overlap there is between the 275 people who will buy this for $3M, the ~425 Veyron owners out there, the 500+ La Ferrari owners, and the ~370 P1 owners.

Ah, engine reliability, the primary concern of the $3,000,000 hypercar buyer.

1.6 Liter... 11,000 RPM... Yeah, THAT sounds like one reliable ass engine.

I totally agree. I’m too good of a driver to have some GP2 engine slowing me down.

We’ll see where they end up in the Constructor’s Championship at the end of this F1 season.. then I’ll think about getting this.

The LC is N/A while the M8 is clearly turbocharged. The snap crackle pop is a direct result of aggressively tuned turbos.
