They are banned too. The 918 is super-banned being a convertible. If you go faster than X without Y safety equipment you’re banned, end of story. They just didn’t have their marketing department go and get it in writing.

Because a cage and street use aren’t really compatible. At best a good cage restricts your ability to get in and out.

Because nothing is allowed to compete while going that fast without a cage. Anything else that fast without a cage will also be banned, Dodge just made it official for marketing reasons.

Yes, but the “claimed” dragstrip time was achieve with the skinny front tires, which it doesn’t come with on the car because they don’t pass safety regs. Dodge couldn’t sell it with the skinny fronts off of the lot.

That’s why it’s sold with the big tires all around, the skinny front tires don’t pass safety regs.

They sell it with the big tires all around because the skinny front tires aren’t legal. They don’t pass safety regs. It’s not rocket science man.

I’d like to see what it runs with the street tires all around, an actual passenger seat, not in race gas mode. The 9.65 claim is obviously in maximum attack mode, and doesn’t appear legal considering those front tires don’t pass safety regs. I also suspect that’s corrected for conditions.

All I could think about was the basic rule that you should never get out of your car on a hot track like the guys in the red car did. I’m torn — that was not your average impact.
