Two things - I’m glad the quote info helped and I did not get to read your full reply because it seems there is a lot more to this story than is featured in this article at the moment that suggests the YouTuber in question is being a bit dishonest about a lot which may change the entire perspective of our discussion.

This wasn’t about simply stopping the spread of information, however. They sent actual investigators to try and find information or proof of an INTERNAL leak.

You have all the pieces of what I said but you put it together all wrong.
That still heavily suggests an employee is telling (or confirming) information that they’re not allowed to discuss.
In a sense that’s pure intimidation over leaks that are coming from a source they idiotically provided and then were either too lazy or inept to plug properly.
Who cares about leakers?
You know what else could have a negative impact on a person’s opinion of a game? The idea that the company could send thugs to your house if they don’t like what you’re posting about it.
