@joeld: The way I understand it, there is two separate components. One of them installs in the BIOS, so it's independent of the operating system. Even if the thief were to reinstall the operating system, the application itself would be restored. Doesn't help for recovering your data in that case, just for getting the

@TehBeardMan: Hmm, I thought I remember seeing that they were going to have Canary ahead of the Dev version. Seems like it's still exactly the same though.

I still can't find any tool out there that works for my iPod Touch 8GB.

@Chispea: Lastpass seems like a good option, as @TheFu said.

@JasonAS: Yes. There's a few other funny things more toward the end, (like him eating a hotdog and saying it), but nothing worth watching the whole way through, that I noticed.

@Hasteur: The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. Very interesting insight into Muslim culture.

@bigngamer: I don't do any collaboration either. I'm mostly thinking back to a few months ago when I was a student. Used Microsoft Office for assignments just to ensure that the professor/teacher (if submitting through email or online) or even a fellow student (for group projects) would not have any issues with

@Stephen: This would be awesome! I just recently became a LastPass premium subscriber (mostly so I could use their mobile app, not having access to my passwords on my iPod was annoying).

@EClaus: I'm using both together with no problems.

@RickS: Not only for files you get from others, but what about files you're sending to others. Odds are that they're using Microsoft Office. Is it going to look ok?

I feel like I may have fanboy tendencies for some things. Google is a big one. But when it comes down to it, I'm willing to listen to other people and their thoughts/concerns, and I'm not going to blindingly follow any one brand. That's stupid.

@Terrence Strickland: I think the fact that you decided you like Android based on research proves that you're not a fanboy. You have good reasons for liking it, I assume.

@Terry: How about "active commenters"?

@Terry: Why not? At least to the extent that Lifehacker readers prefer software that will allow them to customize anything that will save them the most time in the long run, since this is a productivity blog before a tech blog.

On the subject of downloads, a small but very cool feature that Firefox doesn't have is the ability to click on the file in the download bar to tell it to open when it's done, but before it finishes.

@dotyoureyes: Definitely. The speed of Chrome's release schedule is light years ahead of Internet Explorer's. IE's version of a beta should translate to at least the dev version of Chrome, if not the Chromium builds.
