IMO: Good city cars should be a cross between a motorcycle and a car like the Toyota iRoad or the Lit Motors C1. They should be electric and autonomous and you call for one like an Uber. Narrow as well: You should be able to *fit two side by side in one lane*, this actually saves on space in dense cities.

It is a niche that exists though. They have these microcars in Europe. They are terrifying. There was a post with the crash test from and the seatbelt just snapped. I can find the video right now, but it was similar to this:
