The word “objectification” applies regardless of whether the person being objectified has/hasn’t agency. Given that Kotaku’s coverage, as plainly presented here, shows the actual women here as mere objects, the label applies, yes? If the women being shown here aren’t being objectified, what in this coverage would

This article is clearly going to get a lot of clicks, and Kotaku doesn’t care about objectification if there’s money to be made.

That’ll work.

Or at least the NFC East (not that hard) for the next 2-3 years.

Join us. Together we will can rule the galaxy!

I have two daughters who are both adorable. How do I know this? Because people will constantly go on and on about how pretty they are. “Oh my god, she is so BEAUTIFUL! You’re gonna be in trouble when she get’s older, man!” Stupid, creepy shit like that. I always say something along the lines of, “Well, she’s also

Cool. You’ll have to shun our entire society then. I prefer it if we keep talking and teaching. You can’t undo centuries of toxic masculinity overnight, as much as people appear to be demanding that.

For what it’s worth I understand what you’re saying, and have been working through this conversation with someone I’m close with. Men aren’t a monolith, and flip dismissal of attempts at progress are liable to push men who were examining their own actions (like Bateman) back to the comfy status quo out of frustration.

Yeah, and that’s ... also wrong.

So to be clear, after centuries of toxic masculinity, all men should be woke overnight? This is a learning process for ALL of us, a process that is going to take some time. Just ask Sara Silverman, the Louis CK apologist.

Agreed. We’re expecting men to be woke overnight and to be able to be on the same page as women who’ve been experiencing this kind of treatment their entire lives. Otherwise, they’re all CANCELLED.

I honestly feel like the bar for some people is, “If you’re a man, and you make a mistake, you’re excommunicated.”

I’ve heard people are totally ready to cancel Bateman since his apology. I feel like we are failing to distinguish between the men who commit sexual assault and the rest of the male population.

I don’t understand why Signs gets shit on so much. It’s a great claustrophobic thriller. It was very adept at chronicling an extraordinary event that was unfolding for the characters on their TV screen as well as in their immediate surroundings.

Your Type is definitely my favorite song on that album.

Okay, but Store is also about dumping someone by saying you’re going to the store and then never coming back. Carly can make abandonment a bop.

Even the B-Sides from that album aren’t all happy go-lucky. We can’t all be going to the “Store.”

I say this as a deeeeeeep lover of CRJ and the album E-MO-TION but girl......that’s not a happy album overall. “I Really Like You” aside, most of the songs are not at all straightforward sunny love bops.

she should be more famous. vastly underrated, but damn good pop.
