I had a book about various “lost” places (Cibola, Atlantis) and fact-based theories about what the legends may have really been referring to and where they might be if they really existed. Grew up to be a museum curator with a passion for “what is the cool story behind this thing”.

Uhhh we called our daughter Skeletor Baby for a few weeks after seeing the ultrasound. Nobody looks good in ultrasound; the wand adds ten pounds of evil weirdness.

Yes! I thought of Izabel, too. LOVE Saga.

Anyone interested in the social, economic, architectural, etc history of East End London, I strongly strongly strongly direct you to Spitalfields Life.

I haven’t watched this yet, is that in fact a deployment of the magnificent mustache-chops combo AKA the Chester Alan Arthur?

Yeah, I’ve seen panna (“cream”) flavor gelato in Italy which I assume is the same thing. I also much prefer flower flavors, though (or honeycomb, which is also delicious!)

Um, have you watched Hornblower? I’m not a fan of longhaired men in general, but Gruffud as Hornblower with his shining locks all bouncing around his shoulders can Get It.

Wow, this is a blast from the past, literally ;) Rock on with your vintage self! It is the best!

OMG what even....

Is this the same troll who was all “O NOES NOW MEN CAN’T CRITICIZE WOMEN FOR ANYTHING OR TALK TO THEM THE SPECIES WILL DIE OUUUUT” on the vocal fry article? Fuck him either way.

Ahhhhhhh flashbacks! When I worked in a public library it was always “that book with the blue cover”. Sometimes “it had a woman on it”.

Good, because that’s how I read it and it made my day. Now if only all these dudes would get eaten by wild bears.

Arrrgh, ok that does sound terrible.

Before I even read the headline I thought “Huh. Earrings that look like dick-shaped peanuts”, so.

OMG I miss Friendly’s. Signed, an MA native in the deep south.

I was obsessed with the catalogue, too. I remember spending hours poring over every little accessory.

My mom got my daughter one for her sixth birthday a few weeks ago and I think I was more excited than she was. I had the AGD catalogue as a kid and read it to tatters, but the dolls (and of course all the accessories you MUST HAVE) were too expensive. Thank god for Ebay existing today.

Not enough stars available in the universe.

I was thinking how nice and “real person” she looks here - something about her expression and the lighting? - and then realized that that harsh lighting against a white backdrop is a total indicator of Creepy Uncle Terry Richardson and now I hate everything.

Wow! I knew in the UK that Sprite and similar are “lemonade” but never heard of people using it for all soda.
