Smash the patriarchy! Don't play the MANdolin, strum your CLITtar instead!
Is he smoking a pipe at the beach?! That is awesome.
I work for a government related organization in Georgia. Last week we were reviewing our paid holidays, and someone mentioned matching them to the state government (or governor’s office, or something). So we checked on what days they have as paid holidays, and no surprise, Confederate Memorial Day is one.
Oh, is that the “distinctive” license plate the police chief was talking about? I’ve seen this mentioned a few times but not what was actually on the plate.
I always say the same thing when this stupid argument comes up (which, as a Damn Yankee in Georgia, it does), but I’m wondering if there’s anything else? Not that I expect to change minds, but “Yeah, states’ rights to hold slaves” doesn’t seem to have much effect.
If you don’t mind me asking (as a northerner who’s moved to the south), do you have a good rebuttal to “But the Civil War wasn’t about slavery, it was about states’ rights!” So far my answer is “Yeah....states’ rights to own slaves” but I feel there is a better argument here.
That didn’t go the way I thought it would.
That’s the mindset of lots of people who donate to a nonprofit, unfortunately.
Thanks for this info - my hair is similar to yours (plus I live somewhere with lots of heat and humidity, so my roots get sweaty/greasy really quick).

Amazing.
Maybe she can add a haircut that doesn’t look like my six year old got her hands on some scissors?
Don’t forget a thunderbolt suit.
Snort-laughing so hard. I hope she gets hit by an automobile while riding that $900 velocipede.
It’s my birthday on Thursday, in case anyone was still trying to come up with gift ideas.
Glad to see this. I’m not Anglican/Episcopal myself, but my husband is, and it’s always burned my biscuits as they say here in the South that the Presiding Bishop of the US Episcopal Church (basically the top of the church hierarchy in the country), Katharine Jefforts, is not treated with the full dignity of her…
Hey again! I was there 1999-2004 (with a year off in the middle, I did double honours with art history and Italian so I took a year to work so I could then go to a language school in Italy for several months), so Will and Kate were a year or so below me. Kate was in one of my art history classes and was neither the…
